These plates are hand cast from porcelain, glazed on the food surface with matte unglazed clay below They come in 3 sizes.
Each beautiful plate is slip cast from the mould with stained liquid porcelain (slip). It is then slowly dried and fired twice, including a glaze firing after I've applied glaze to the inside leaving the outside an unglazed silky and matte finish. I've carefully sanded the unglazed areas at each stage, because I love the feeling of the smooth matte unglazed clay.
It is FOOD, DISHWASHER and MICROWAVE SAFE. They can be used for hot and cold foods. As all my objects are hand made, each piece has it's own unique character. These plates are suitable for stacking , and look great on an open shelving system.

As with all my beautiful objects, each bowl is produced with minimal environmental impact incorporating recycling and electric firing. I also pack in cardboard and popcorn (domestically only) or compostable packing peanuts which are all fully compostable and/or recycled bubble wrap, wherever possible.
