Handmade porcelain cups cast in moulds made from rescued disposable coffee cups
Beautiful handmade porcelain cup poured with colours in whichever colour you select from the drop down list. These stylish cups are perfect for hot or cold servings of anything you fancy.
I made the original moulds from discarded slightly fluted paper coffee cups. I effected a brave rescue and transformed it into lovely prototypes.
Each beautiful glazed cup is individually slip cast from the mould with two separate layers of stained liquid porcelain (slip), then lined with a thick layer of white. A final coloured layer lines the inside of each cup. There is also a slightly different variation available that is white inside. It is then slowly dried and fired twice, including a glaze firing after I've applied glaze to the inside and outside of the cups (but not the bottom, otherwise they'd still be stuck to my kiln shelves!). I've carefully sanded the base at each stage, because I love the feeling of the smooth matte unglazed clay.
It is dishwasher and microwave safe. They can be used for hot and cold liquids. As all my objects are hand made, each piece has it's own unique character. They are available in the complete MadHarriet range of colours which you can choose from the drop down list.
I can usually make to order for $5 extra per cup to make to order; please note that there may be up to 4 week production time, depending on my firing schedule and the size of the order.

I made the original mould from discarded clay and textured paper scraps and staples transformed it into a lovely, organic prototype.
Each beautiful glazed cup is slip cast from the mould with stained liquid porcelain (slip). It is then slowly dried and fired twice, including a glaze firing once I've poured a glossy clear food safe glaze inside the cup. The outside remains unglazed. The clay is so pure and smooth, there's no need to glaze the outside, and the contrast is beautiful.
It is dishwasher and microwave safe. They can be used for hot and cold liquids. As all my objects are hand made, each piece has it's own unique character. These cups are suitable for stacking. I'll be listing coordinating bowls and platters shortly, so watch out for them! they are also available in a limited range of other colours.

It is then slowly dried and fired twice, including a glaze firing once I've poured a glossy clear food safe glaze inside the cup. The outside remains unglazed. The clay is so pure and smooth, there's no need to glaze the outside, and the contrast is beautiful.
